Russell Querry is an attorney of SANCHEZ QUERRY located in Tampa Bay. Russell is the youngest of four siblings and was raised in northern Virginia in Prince William County, which is a commuter suburb of Washington D.C. Russell relocated to Tampa in 1980 after suffering a spinal cord injury in an automobile accident while serving in the U.S. Army as an aide and driver to Major General Frank Cochran.
In 1981, about a year of undergoing treatment and rehabilitation, Russell enrolled at the University of South Florida to pursue a bachelors degree, which he earned in May, 1986.
In 1992, Mr. Querry returned to school and began full time classes at Stetson College of Law. He was then admitted to the Florida Bar in April 1996 and was only able to practice one year before suffering a complication of his spinal cord injury and subsequent surgeries. He returned to the practice of Law in August 1999 to take on a new position as a staff attorney for the Honorable Joseph G. Donahey, Jr., Circuit Judge, Sixth Judicial Circuit. In this position, Russell was responsible in preparing and assisting Judge Donahey return to the Circuit bench after he losing his vision. Russell worked closely with Judge Donahey until April 2001, when he was offered a position as an Assistant State Attorney with the Hillsborough County State Attorneys Office. There, he successfully prosecuted hundreds of cases before leaving in 2003.
From 2003 until 2007, Mr. Querry focused in juvenile delinquency cases and juvenile dependency defense for indigent parents in Pasco County. This court appointed position required constant and daily court appearances and representation in some cases that spanned more than two years.
Russell began his association with Gil in early 2007. This relationship began as a minor representation but quickly turned into a close friendship and working relationship for both of them which preceded the recent formation of Sanchez Querry.
